Well it is officially Winter, and the weather has been rather cold too of late. It really does throw us at edge with the rest of the world as while the US are celebrating Spring/ Summer 09 with heat waves and sunshine, we are here chilling out to the Fall/ Winter collections in out Signature Burberry trench coats, scarves and lace up shoes. As a result; I’ve picked out some outwear that help you keep warm during this winter, with jackets ranging from the wonderful Miu Miu to the fashion savvy Alexander McQueen. Enjoy!

I was browsing around when this pen caught my attention. I mean, sure it doesn’t have a detonator or a laser that can cut through steel, but it’s a remarkable little gadget which can help the best of both gender worlds. It’s called the Pulse Smartpen by LiveScribe and its features include a built in mic, a camera and a recorder and specialized paper that keeps track of where you are on the page, and to finish off with something quite remarkable; in order to access past information all you have to do is tap the pen. So tap that.

How awesome is this chair? This robot chair moves around thanks to Radio Frequency Identification, so it follows you around making itself available for you when you’re tired and need to catch a break. And yes this chair is actually called Take a seat. Now it’s one of my most favourite inventions, so thank you Dutch designer Jelte van Geest, you are the saviour to all of us men out there who cannot be bothered looking for seats.
From the looks of everything; I feel as though I may have confu
sed a few guys on what are particular hot trends this winter (I don't know if this is true though, but for arguments' sake, we'll just say it is). I think that this season was summed up beautifully at Emanuel Ungaro where the scarves, bomber jackets, belts, vests, suit jackets, and pointy loafers were so evident. Ungaro really demonstrated how a boring simple outfit can be dressed up with a few simple addings of accesories in order to create a chic off-the-runway look which is perfect this Fall/Winter 2008 season.
Oversized scarves were seen to be draped casually over suit jackets and tailored pants for that effortless chic, or even folded neatly around the neck to create
that preppy sophisticated appeal whilst worn with casual pants and a knitted vest. Try the scarf look which works for both; casual or dressy with a pair of straight legged Armani jeans, Ralph Lauren blazer and a neatly folded Country Road scarf (which is very affordable, thanks for asking) around the neck for that sophisticated appeal or even try dressing a suit casually with an oversized scarf or shawl tied loosely around the neck and shoulders for that gorgeous effortless chic.
Belt made its comeback this season, with a variety appearing on the catwalks. Forget studded belts, this season is all about the 'corset belt', even for you
men out there. PS: When I said 'Corset-belt', that doesn't mean HUGELY corset, but rather more subtle with about two/three belt buckles and thin strips. Try whimsically bold colours such as mustard yellows to accompany any plain outfit. Wear a belt on top of jackets and blazers towards the centre of the torso for that balancing appearance and also to create that unique erudition.
Woollen Bomber jackets are such a must have this season, as it can easily dress up or dress down any fabulous outfit. Ungaro had a gorgeous dirty pickle coloured bomber which was paired up with dressier pieces in order to emphasis that casual masculinity.
I personally think that a distressed leather bomber jacket looks fabulous over a knitted vest, with a pair of straight legged jeans and an oversized scarf, finished off with a pair of loafers or converse shoes for that delicious Dan Humphrey look. Mmhmm...
Vests were gorgeous at Ungaro as they were casual but not tacky or cheap. They were worn inside of oversized grandpa cardigans and paired up with some casual pants and they looked so effortless yet so done up. I love it. This season, try some vests which are either; knitted, vintage denim, light distressed leather or even just cotton.![]()
Pointy croc loafers are just so hot this season. Yeah, you can also get mock croc, for all that were wondering. Oh...I mean croc as in crocodile, not croc as in those rubber fluro chunky things that 5 year old kids are being forced to wear. Okay; glad we're on the same level now. Anyways, as I was saying, croc loafers look so fabulous when finishing off an outfit which either a) consists of layers of clothes (very Dan), or b) dressing up a sophisticated outfit like a suit and whatnot. Scrap the converse shoes, I'm telling you!
Overall, I hope that makes everything a whole lot
clearer for you all out there! And I hope to see many of you out there shopping at Castlereagh st, Elizabeth st, and even in an opt shop in Surry Hills...hmm, now that is hot.

This week turned out pretty okay in terms of statistics and fashio
n question and answers (thanks for asking). I did actually have a question from a guy this week and it was how "What to wear to a formal" and I realised that for men, this is a little bit of a jiffy. I mean, there really is only so many times a man can wear a black suit and fedora and converse shoes to a formal (You know who you are and you thought I never noticed…) so I thought of letting you know some of my favourite formal looks for this season straight off the runway that’ll ensure that you’ll look hot; from my point of view which is always fabulous. Here are some of my fashion tips for formal dressing:
Colour: I find that men forget about this important element, not intentionally but seriously, colour is a
main factor which enables guys to stand out at boring black and grey formal occasions. At Marc by Marc Jacobs, there was an array of normal suits which were worn with amazing jewelled toned shirts which instantly wowed up any old suit. And NO, don’t do a silly flimsy pink shirt because you got to admit that it is just as bad as a silly fedora hat. Instead opt for jewelled greens, peacock blues, imperial purples, dark silvers…the list goes on. Colour is one element of what separates you from the rest. If you are feeling like the risk taker; why not try a suit in a unique but subtle colour? Marc by Marc Jacobs proved that this look also works well.
The Suit: Unlike girls, men generally wear the same bloody suit to all formal occasions, and just change the shirt and tie. Well not anymore. Marc Jaco
bs had an array of normal suits meshed in with colourful shirts, but Dior Homme really brings out the Man in a suit. Instead of the typically boring black tailored fabric suit (you know the one, ALL guys wear), why not try a black suit which has black satin edgings on the suit jacket? It just adds that extra bit of class and sharpness I think. Or maybe just go head to toe in black? Stop laughing, I’m not even joking. It looks hot. I think guys who look serious are the ones who get far in life, the stupid flimsy fedora-wearing ones (sorry, I cannot get over it) are the ones who just put themselves at the wrong places at the right time.
Accessories: No more fedoras. I swear, if I see anyone at a formal wearing
a stupid fedora, I will probably walk right up to you, and tip my glass of coke over your fedora wearing head. Anyways, sunglasses are still an OKAY accessory and that is probably just because it hasn’t been overdone…yet. Big silver watches are hot. Masculinity at formals is ALWAYS a good look and a way to impress. I personally think that button-up vests are still hot and they are totally under-worn at formals so chances are that the guy sitting next to your formal partner isn’t wearing one. Also; scrap the converse shoes. I’m sorry but why would you wear shoes to a FORMAL that are exactly the same as the shoe you wear to the park? Like okay, if it makes you happy but otherwise I think it just looks tacky as anything and as in denial as you are, I know that you know it looks cheap.![]()
Anyways, I hope that answers your question. I think its funny because it’s the simple things which can oomph up your formal look rather than the extremities like a face transplant or something, but a last special tip (as I am indeed a girl)…Remember to shave your moustache as pash rashes aren’t at all a fashion statement and I don’t want you to look like some bikie random, also remember to get your girl a super pretty corsage in a fashionable flower like a camellia (which is very Chanel), or a lily, as it is just sociably and fashionably accepted nowadays and please finish off your look with a few squirts of Gucci Homme as I know now for sure, that not only will you look amazing, ut you will smell extra good as well. I hope you have a good one.
(PS: The first and third pictures aren't the same. Just thought I should say that just in case you didn't notice)

Don't we all just LOVE the preppy school boy look for men? I know that I personally do but this season, but preppy can take another spin on the meaning. So for all you out there who watch Gossip Girl (ow
n it guys, I'm just as honest as you are), Dan's look is perfection for this vintage preppy look this winter. I really love what Dolce and Gabbana has done this season for all you gentlemen reading this. It is very layered, collegiate, vintage and overdone in a differently subtle way.
Think vintage suedes, wool, fur, leather...Yeah okay, I know that you probably aren't gay but these looks just scream out 'HOT'. I don't know about you but the furs and bomber jackets this season seems to be a fabulous look for men especially shown at D&G. I love the worn brown leather and wool bomber jackets which can be paired up with some straight legged jeans for that hot effortless preppy look. Layer on the Tsubi t-shirts with Ralph Lauren Vests before putting an oversized vintage grandpa cardigan
on top before finishing it off with a worn vintage leather bomber jacket with fur collar and some nice leather shoes. Wow, is it getting hot in here or is just everything you guys have to put on to look fabulous this season?! The scarves are indeed a real fashion accesory this season, so kudos for me, for getting that prediction right.
Checks are also very nice on everything, from scarves to jackets, to pants (if your feeling very Ewan McGregor) but the casual collegiate slash vintage slash flea market look is definitely one to keep up with this winter. So when you are getting dressed on a chilly winters morning; remember to put on a nice pair of pants, or straight legged Levi jeans with all of the warmest of the warm piled neatly and eccentrically on top. So to all of you Dan Humpfreys' out there, use your unique style to make the most of this cold season and to all of you Nate's out there, I have only one thing to say and that is; good luck with this look. xoxo lisa.

Can i just say that Spring 2008 represents the summer seaso
n in the fashion world, and Fall 2008 represents Winter? Easy enough there boys? Yeah I thought so. Anyways onto the fashion...I've noticed for men's Fall 2008 styles, the tailored sophisticatd and preppy look is IN and Emo is out, sorry to all you out there...but yes, Sharp, Sophisticated, Tailored and Smart is big this season.
Calvin Klein did a collection and it featured an amazing array of tailored coats, turtlenecks (aka; Skivvys), oversized anorack style jackets which do resemble some other the women's fashion trend this season (only with a male out-take) in tones of greys, beiges, and blacks which is 'oh-so-sophisticated' and HOT so that's definitely a good look this season. I also have the pleasure to officially say that MAN BAGS are IN! So whilst the YSL 'Tribute bag' is the latest 'It' bag for women, the Man Bag is the latest 'It' bag for men, preferably something by Hugo Boss or Mont
Blanc though and also featuring dark black leather and suede meshed in with a little of patent if you're feeling a little bit 'risque' but nevertheless, it is hot and I'm definitely not complaining. Marc by Marc Jacobs introduced the preppy suit look which combines gorgeously tailored styles with more relaxed pieces such as cardigans and loose fitting tshirts mingled in with some tailored and fitted blazers for that fabulous masculine sensitive appeal which is way hot, I am telling you. Mix and match smart and tailored to create that effortless chic (sheike) look which is a stunner for men this season. Busboy hats are also very smart this season and look fab when accesorising a basic but sharp outfit giving it some fun appeal to the look.
Another accesory which I think will be fabulous this winter would be scarves which will blow off any sophisticated outfit nicely. Choose so
me grey, beige or black tones with minial detail so pinstripes are cool and spots, not so much...For you casual guys out there reading this, This is a REMINDER that; you don't have to go head-to-toe in whatever just hit off the runway, but rather; take elements of the look and apply it to your own because I am sure that all you reading this, might not have a thing for wearing tailored pants out when your going to see your friends this winter, but your girlfriend perhaps? She might like it so but you really have got to ask her so I accept no responsibility for any weird accusations or swear words she might call you. Just kidding. She will love it.
Anyways, I suggest that you take the best features of this season and mix it up with a pair of cool denim, and some hot blazer style jackets with a nice relaxed statement tshirt, a preppy cardigan, an awesome Country Road scarf, some loafers or converse shoes completed with a pair of dark sunnies, and there you have fab off the runway, to the streets. (ps; don't forget the man bag!) *Whistles*...Now that will be hot. Let's just hope you that you have a hotter-than-hot personality to match.

Okay I have a question for all you reading this and it is...what do you think about floral prints for guys? Like literally? With the passing of Summer, and the Spring 2008 collection for men, there seemed to be a very feminine aura getting around. Pastels were introduced, followed by large
printed shirts and some boho looking thongs? Hmm...it does seem rather odd, does it not? But I have realised that for Srping 2008, the male fashion for summer was very inspired by the typically feminine prints and styles with masculine elements to it, but who's not to say that I didn't love it anyways?
Anyhow, the sole purpose of this article was to note that, I noticed that on the streets in summer, it was popular to see men wearing some super skinny jeans in white, with pastel pink plaid shirts and some awesome bubblegum coloured sunnies and a neckscarf in a gorgeously girly orange colour and I am wondering, do you find that odd? I honestly have to say that it is a little weird, I mean, girls have always been able to pull of the 'boyfriend' style clothes; think baggy pants, masculine shirts, fedoras...you get the drift, but what about men wearing their girlfriends clothes? So that'll be like; paisely printed shirts, skinny jeans, vintage belts...the list goes on?
Maybe it is time for a new feminism and this is perhaps one worn by men to create the new meninism? Okay, this is rather difficult to deconstruct but I'd love to know if you have any comments on the look, and yay or nay, so keep posting in the forums please!
If you are wondering what the purpose of this short blab on is, I just thought I should say that the idea of men wearing feminine styles, out loud because it is definitely a new direction and although it isnt highly as masculine as I normally like it, I can't say that it was a tragic look, but rather, it was more or less a little disturbing, but like all fashion trends which come in, I gotta say that I loved it.

When I was showcasing my blog fashion website, I have had many requests from guys to put in a 'Men's section in order to also update them in all things fashionable for men this season. Luckily, the fashion season for men i
s quite similar to that of women, so whilst women are looking forward to Fall 2008 season, men are also looking forward to the Fall 2008 ranges which is very good as well, as it makes my job a lot easier, and your reading a lot easier, so I don't have to keep on reverting from Spring 2008 to Winter 2008, unless I need to, obviously. Just to tell you all now, I have gathered some mens styles taken from desginers who DID a show for this season, such as Balenciaga and Ralph Lauren and stock up on BOTH female and male designs AND also picked out other looks for men which are just designed for men, thankyou very much and this may be of interest to anyone whos curious to see whats hot aff the runway for Men, and just for men (like I mentioned before). This is just a little introduction in case you all get confused when I am mentioning a season, I shall generally refer to either Spring 2008 or Winter 2008, but it IS winter this coming season so I hope you know what I am saying when I mention 'Fall 2008', it is literally the Winter season okay?...have i lost you? Don't worry, I will try to make it as simple as possible...knowing your brains...which are in your pants...so wait, should I start by introducing the latest pants?
